Sustainable Practices
Sustainability should be practical, measurable and suited to the site. We reduce waste, improve soil health and encourage biodiversity without compromising the standards expected on premium residential, hospitality and commercial properties.
On-site composting & recycling
We encourage and construct compost bins on clients’ premises to create a sustainable ecosystem—enriching soil and plant material, supporting micro-organisms and reducing green-waste mileage and carbon footprint. Plastics, cardboard and paper found on site are separated and disposed of into appropriate recycling streams.
Reducing plastics and waste on site
Where suitable, we prioritise battery-powered tools and biodegradable alternatives such as cardboard pots and natural ties to reduce plastic waste. We also use propagation techniques—soft and hardwood cuttings and division—to expand plant stock naturally.
Ecological Habitats & Biodiversity
Biodiversity support is integrated into our approach wherever appropriate—especially on estates and larger landscapes. We build habitats that support pollinators and wildlife while keeping sites tidy, safe and well-presented.
Typical options include:
- Beehive installation — strategic placement where appropriate, alongside wildflower areas and turf
- Bird & bat boxes — encouraging safe nesting sites for native wildlife
- Insect hotels & wildflower meadows — preparation, sowing, installation and maintenance of wildflower areas and wildflower turf
- Mammal & amphibian habitats — designing water features, shelters and suitable habitat areas for frogs, toads and other native wildlife
- Plant propagation — increasing on-site stock through cuttings and division to reduce costs and carbon footprint
